New Lisbon office to help enable developers to reach over 70% of all Brazilian internet users

BoaCompra opens up Brazil market to European devs

Brazil-based free-to-play outfit BoaCompra has set up a new European office as it looks to sign up games to publish in Brazil.

The firm specialises in publishing and monetising online games in Brazil, and has previously signed deals to monetise titles such as Riot Games’ League of Legends and Valve’s large catalogue of games.

The company also offers up a number of titles developed in Asia to the South American country, and claims it reaches over 70 per cent of all Brazilian internet users.

With the opening of a new European office in Lisbon, Portugal, BoaCompra is now looking for games created by developers in the region to release their titles in Brazil.

BoaCompra also has offices based in Maringa, Sao Paulo and Shanghai, and offers it payment services to a number of countries as well as Brazil including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Spain and Venezuela.

“We have established this office in Lisbon with the express aim of signing up more European developed games for the Brazilian market and we invested over $1.5 million into it,” said BoaCompra director of international business development Julian Migura.

“In the medium term, we want to have 35 employees in our new European office, starting with 15 in 2013 and increasing to 30 at the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014. Currently, I don’t think Europe understands just how large and lucrative the Brazilian F2P market is. Our mission here in Europe is twofold.

“First, we want to introduce European developers to BoaCompra and relay to them the status and potential of the Brazilian market and, second, we want to host more European games on our network and hope to begin announcing a series of new partnerships with European developers in the coming months.”
