Games audio specialist and Develop Industry Excellence Award winner Side UK has added music team Bob and Barn to its business, rounding out its offer for games sound production.

Bob and Barn on Side

Bob and Barn are Andrew Barnabus and Paul Arnold – they’ve worked on a number of projects since starting out as games sound design specialists in 1990, and previously collaborated with Side when making MediEvil Resurrection and Primeval.

Side UK MD Andy Emery explained why the two businesses have formalised their relationship: “Their work on games music – which includes managing live music sessions, such as those with the Prague Philharmonic – has been widely acclaimed, but it is perhaps less well known that their track record in the area of sound design is just as formidable.”

Andrew Barnabas added: “We’ve known and worked alongside Side for many years and this seemed a natural progression for us. What it means in practical terms for clients is a single, complete and seamless audio outsourcing service – all sound elements are dealt with by one team. This ensures that the project runs smoothly, creating a superior product.”

An exclusive editorial by Andrew Barnabus can be found in this month’s issue of Develop, which can be downloaded here.
