Co-founder of Maxis and co-creator of SimCity joins Red Mile Entertainment

Braun switches SimCity for Sin City

Red Mile Entertainment has hired SimCity creator Jeff Braun as strategic advisor.

Braun, who worked with Will Wright to co-found Maxis, will help the firm grow its publishing and development operation. His appointment is the latest in a series of moves by Red Mile; in February 2007, the company appointed Glenn Wong, former president of Electronic Arts Canada, as its president and COO, and in late 2007 it secured the game rights to Frank Miller’s Sin City.

"Red Mile got my attention when it licensed Frank Miller’s Sin City. The opportunity to work with a company that has the rights to such an influential Frank Miller property is very compelling," said Braun.

"The next big challenge for Red Mile will be to turn this property into a triple-A game and make the transition to a top-tier publisher. I believe their development strategy, in addition to the management experience of Glenn Wong, are key steps toward achieving this goal."
