New IP suggested by Japanese partnership

Bravely Default creator Silicon teams with Last Story dev Mistwalker for new game

Two of Japan’s best-known studios are working on a title together.

Silicon Studio is the creator of the Bravely series (Default, Second), as well as 3D Dot Game Heroes.

Mistwalker, meanwhile, was founded by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and has produced RPGs including Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, The Last Story and Terra Battle.

The two outlets announced their partnership on an untitled game, with the only detail being that it will take place in a new setting – suggesting at a new franchise, rather than a sequel or reboot.

“Together I feel we can create an exciting game carefully made ??with a great story with soul, plus great systems, graphics and sound, that is bound together by the excellent programming technology of Silicon Studio,” said Sakaguchi (translated using Google).

“As a team wanting to produce the best game we can, we will advance the development with full force.”

A single piece of artwork was also shared – although the same image was released back in 2009.
