This year’s conference also introduces the European Innovative Games Showcase

Brenda Romero, Double Fine and Ninja Theory headline GDC Europe 2014

A host of big names will be speaking at the 2014 Game Developers Conference Europe, which will be held in Cologne, Germany next month.

Some of the more notable speakers include Brenda Romero and members of the Double Fine Games and Ninja Theory teams.

Romero will be hosting a session entitled ‘I, Outsider’, in which she will discusses the issue of self-validation and acceptance for innovative companies seemingly outside the games industry, and why they crave the environment of established developers.

Meanwhile, Double Fine’s Anna Kipnis will share secrets about the process of getting dialogue into games, from the writing of the script to translating it to a foreign language. And, in a talk entitled ‘The Independent Triple-A Proposition’, Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antoniades will reflect on the studio’s 14-year history and share footage of both unreleased games and the studio’s unannounced triple-A project.

This year, the organisers have joined forces with Aruba Events and its Respawn convention, with attendees of the latter offered free access to the GDC Expo and discounted conference passes. Both companies will host a GDC Europe and Respawn Developer Night party on Tuesday, August 12th.

Early Registration for GDC Europe is still available but only until Wednesday, July 16th. Signing up before the deadline will save you €200.
