Teaser of new project built by three people in three weeks

Brothers team’s new studio Hazelight using Unreal Engine 4

Hazelight Studios has revealed it will be using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4 for its first title.

The company was recently formed by several of the developers behind the acclaimed Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, which teased its first game during this month’s Game Awards in Las Vegas.

The mystery title will be published by Electronic Arts.

Given that Brothers was powered by Unreal Engine 3, it’s perhaps no surprise that the team has opted for its successor when tackling their next project. Their experience with the engine helped a team of three people build the Game Awards teaser in just three weeks.

"Unreal Engine 4 is such a natural fit for us at Hazelight; we are a small team with very high ambitions," said CEO Josef Fares. "With the help of such a powerful yet easy-to-use game engine, we know that our vision will be fully realised on this new generation of gaming hardware. The things we’ve been able to accomplish less than two months into production are simply amazing."
