Jay Cohen to run joint venture between Hollywood producer and MTV Games

Bruckheimer game studio to be headed by former Ubisoft exec

Jerry Bruckheimer’s game studio is to be headed up by former Ubisoft US publishing exec Jay Cohen according to Variety.

The studio, a joint venture between the Hollywood producer of the likes of CSI and Pirates of the Caribbean, was unveiled in 2007, but little has been said about it since.

According to Variety, Cohen’s move to the Hollywood games team will be closely watched by the movie world – at Ubisoft he was responsible for signing and commissioning products to publish.

At the time of the studio’s founding, Bruckheimer said: "Video games represent a new and innovative medium for what we’ve always tried to do, which is to tell great stories. But this medium is unique in that it gives the player control over how those stories unfold."
