Call for GDC China 2013 speakers now open

The call for Mandarin and English speakers to present talks for the 2013 Game Developers Conference China is now open until May 10th.

GDC China, now in its sixth year, has been moved up to September this year, running from September 15th to 17th at the Shanghai International Convention Center in Shanghai, China.

Submissions will be accepted until May 10th for papers on game design, production, visual arts, business and marketing, smartphone and tablet Games and independent games.

GDC organisers are looking for leading industry practitioners to propose lectures and panels with significant, applicable takeaways for today’s video game community.

Chosen speakers can join the world’s leading developers to exchange ideas, be inspired, and to further advance the business, knowledge and technology behind game creation in Asia.

Some of 2012 events included D2C’s Xiaolei Zhang outlining the future of the mobile collectible card genre in Japan and the West, Johann Sebastian Joust creators on how motion control is “the slapstick comedy of games”, and Bejeweled Blitz developer PopCap on how companies should be metrics-focused, not metrics-driven.

Registration for GDC China 2013 itself, which is co-located with Cloud Connect China, will open later this month.
