Activision stands to make $100m annually from Modern Warfare and Black Ops online service

Call of Duty Elite amasses 2m paying subscribers

As many as two million customers have signed up to the premium Call of Duty Elite subscription package, publisher Activision has claimed.

It means that the online service will, at current rates, make about $100 million each year from the service.

Customers pay $50 each year for Elite and in return receive all game DLC without additional charge, as well as various guides, stats and other online tools.

The free edition of Elite has about 8 million subscribers, Activision said.
