Mobile dev sets sights on DS, Wii and digital distribution

Capybara granted Nintendo developer status

San Francisco-based mobile games developer Capybara has announced it is to develop a number of its titles for the DS, Wii and digital distribution.

The studio was recently approved as an official developer for Wii and DS by Nintendo. Its games include Pillow Fight and a number of tie-ins such as Happy Feet and Pirates of the Caribbean.

“Many of our mobile titles lend themselves to development on console platforms, and we see a lot potential in up-scaling and expanding these properties,” said Tom Frencel, president of Capybara Games.

The studio has already signed a publishing deal for a licence-based DS title due to be announced in coming months.
