UK based creative firm combines live action and VFX for opening of hit Sony game

Carbon Digital creates LittleBigPlanet 3 intro

The intro sequence for PlayStation’s LittleBigPlanet 3 was produced by UK studio Carbon Digital.

The company, which is based in Manchester’s MediaCity, worked closely with the game’s developers Sumo Digital to create the footage for the new release, which combines live action clips with visual effects.

The contact with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is one of the first big partnership’s for Carbon’s new games trailer division, which was set up earlier this year.

"We saw LBP3 announced to a huge cheer at E3 this year," said Carbon director Paul McHugh. "The following for the series is incredible and we are really very excited to have created the intro for such a high profile title.

"Our combined experience in both live action production and visual effects was of huge importants in delivering the wow factor that this title is renowned for."

LittleBigPlanet 3 was released last month, and is the first entry not to be developed by series creators Media Molecule.
