Casual studio creates debut title for touch-screen tech

Carbonated shows first Microsoft Surface game

Carbonated Games, Microsoft’s in-house casual games studio, has created a title for Microsoft’s Surface intelligent multi-touch panel system.

Firefly sees up to four players herding fireflies into a glass jar by dragging their fingers across the display, while also allowing competitive players to sabotage their opponents by jabbing fireflies to kill them.

Demonstrating the game to blog Sarcastic Gamer, a Microsoft Surface representative said that Carbonated was asked to create a game that was "fun and simple, that could be used to test the Surface."

At the moment the game remains a proof of concept, with the rep saying that they "didn’t know if we’ll ever see this deployed anywhere."
