Epic, EA, Sierra and Gamelab representatives to talk at July event

Casual Connect Seattle speakers revealed

Organisers of the Casual Connect Seattle conference have revealed the first round of speakers set to talk at the event.

Taking place at the Benaroya Hall in Seattle from July 23rd to 25th, the conference aims to tackle topics ranging from development, social gaming and consumer marketing to social networks and opportunities on mobile phones.

The final day will take a special look at the development of casual games, featuring Sierra Online president Ed Zobrist, Gamelab CEO Eric Zimmerman and Richard Wilcoxen, sales VP at Ubisoft North America. Epic Games president Dr. Mike Capps will also present a talk entitled ‘I Wish I Were A Casual Developer’.

Speaking about the session, Capps said: “It’s pretty clear that casual game developers are having a great time making fun games. Small, focused teams of multi-discipline developers, rapid release schedules – it’s like a renaissance of the golden age of game development.”

The conference of course features a full line-up of speakers from the casual industry, including bigwigs such as Paul Thelen (CEO, Big Fish), Trip Hawkins (CEO, Digital Chocolate), David Roberts (CEO, PopCap), Alex St. John (CEO, WildTangent) and Andrew Pedersen (GM, Pogo and EA Casual).
