Web portal to feature free browser-based games targeted at mid-to-hardcore gamers

ChangYou launches online F2P platform Gamiction

Online games company ChangYou.com today launched the Gamiction web portal through which it will release online free-to-play games tailored to the Indian audience.

Designed to appeal to Indian “mid to hardcore gamers”, Gamiction will feature free browser-based games that require no downloads, with minimal bandwidth usage.

The first game to be released on the platform is Rising Saga, a “premier” fantasy MMORPG. ChangYou is also planning to launch DD Tank, a turn-based online multiplayer shooter, on Gamiction within the next few weeks.

The Chinese company has been quite aggressive in India, having initially entered the market with a localised release of its most popular game, Dragon Oath.
