Charity WarChild announces GameOn development hub

Charity WarChild, who raise money for children affected by conflict, has announced a new hub to shocase gaming projects.

GameOn is inteneded to help developers share ideas, put on events or create ‘gaming packages’. Funds from the projeects will go to aiding the charity. 

WarChild has often worked with games in order raise support for its charity work with over $2.5 million raised over the last ten years. Industry names have already leant support to the hub including writer Rhianna Pratchett, Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford and Sports Interactive’s Miles Jacobson who said, "I remember being blown away by the charity’s drive and enthusiasm when I first got involved more than 20 years ago when I worked in the music business; and it’s great to see that same focus now directed on games through the GameOn initiative."

WarChild’s gaming development manager, Wayne Emanuel aslo said, "What we have achieved to date with the help of the gaming industry is incredible and GameOn is an exciting next step for War Child. Our journey so far has seen collaborations with major players in the industry and with the new gaming hub we hope to encourage more developers, studios, publisher and gamers to join us on our mission striving for a world where no child’s life is torn apart by war."
