Chris Satchell to deliver GameHorizon keynote

Organisers of next months GameHorizon Conference in Newcastle-Gateshead have announced that Microsoft’s XNA head Chris Satchell will be offering up a keynote speech at the event.

Satchell is joined by Seamus Blackley, head of games at the Creative Artists Agency, as the second keynote speaker at the conference. The GameHorizon Conference takes place on June 18th & 19th at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.

Satchell commented: “We expect to see a whole host of new ideas when community games launch on Xbox Live later this year. The democratisation of game development will foster the next wave of creativity. New stars will rise in the industry as more people create games on XNA Game Studio and distribute them on Xbox Live to millions of consumers.”

Other speakers at the event include Codemasters’ Rod Cousens, FreeStyleGames’ Chris Lee, RealTime Worlds’ Mario Rizzo and Torsten Reil from NaturalMotion.

The early bird deadline for registration at the event runs until the end of today, May 2nd. To register, head to www.gamehorizonconference.com.
