London-based studio focused on handheld games shuts up shop

Climax Kingston closed

UK developer Climax has closed its Kingston, London-based handheld development studio, Develop understands.

This leaves the Britsoft firm with just one remaining studio – its HQ in Portsmouth.

The news, however, may not come as that big a surprise to those who have worked for the outfit – the office itself has been reportedly working with a skeleton crew of staff for some months. Those remaining employees have been made redundant, say reports sent to Develop.

Climax was not available for comment at the time of writing.

The London studio had worked on a number of handheld games, including a DS version of Diner Dash.
