Doubts raised over authenticity of West and Zampella Facebook page

CORRECTION: No â??big Respawn announcementâ?? at E3

Electronic Arts has explained that Respawn Entertainment – West and Zampella’s new studio following a bitter legal row with Activision – will not have a key presence at E3.

A Facebook page, purportedly managed by Vince Zampella and Jason West, claimed early in the week that there would be a “big time announcement at E3 next week”.

Develop was one of the news outlets that reported the Facebook post as authentic.

Suspicions regarding the report were raised soon after publication.

David Braben, via his personal Twitter feed, said the Facebook page “does look fishy.” He also cited other posts the Facebook page published and noted their peculiarity.

EA told IGN it would not be making any announcements at E3 in regards to Respawn Entertainment’s new project.
