Crafty graduate codes Katamari browser hack

A undergraduate form the University of Washington has built a hack that allows a ball to roll across virtually any web page and engulf its content.

The trick is inspired by Keita Takahashi’s Katamari Damacy series; the cult game which allows players to steamroll a ball across various locations and pick up items, people, animals, buildings and all manner of infrastructure.

The website hack does largely the same, eating through text and images, growing big enough to pick up larger items.

The inventive code was created by Alex Leone, a student who hopes to graduate in physics and maths at the University of Washington.

“I do a lot of programming and electronics, and tend find myself involved a lot of cool projects,” he said on his personal blog.

Leone finishes his course in June.
