Collaboration with long-running tabletop brand finally unveiled, first in a trilogy

Creative Assembly ventures into fantasy for Total War: Warhammer

UK studio Creative Assembly is taking its flagship Total War series into new territory with the next instalment, which is set in the Warhammer universe.

Total War: Warhammer has long been rumoured, but was finally unveiled yesterday. It will be the first in a trilogy, and introduces monsters, flying creatures and massive magic attacks to the traditionally historical series.

With two standalone expansions and other additional content planned, Creative Assembly hopes this will be “the single largest Total War experience ever”.

“We’ve always loved the Warhammer universe, and couldn’t wait to approach it with the same colossal scale and authenticity that has characterised our titles for the last 15 years,” said the studio’s Ian Roxburgh, project lead for Total War: Warhammer. “We’re bringing it to life in a way that nobody’s attempted before.”
