Take part today to represent the games sector in the creative media survey

Creative Skillset calls on devs to enter industry census

Creative Skillset is calling on UK developers to take part in its latest creative media industries census.

The survey, the organisation’s first since 2009, is being held today with the aim to keep decision makers and industry professionals informed about the impact of the economic climate on creative sectors as well as current demographic issues.

The last census revealed that the representation of women was six per cent lower than across the wider creative media, at 27 per cent.

Chief executive of Creative Skillset Dinah Caine said that the proportion of women in the sector stands at its lowest since the organisation started conducting the census, and the 2012 survey would help monitor whether this had improved.

The previous census has also been used to highlight job and skill shortages.

The results of the census will be shared freely throughout the sector.

Employers have been urged to complete the census today, July 4th, or as soon after as possible.
