Tool enables developers to examine API usage to track bugs

Crytek offers new graphics debugger Renderdoc for free

Crytek is making its new graphics debugger Renderdoc available to download for free from its website.

The standalone program can be used to capture and replay frames from Windows applications using Direct3D 11.0 or 11.1.

Renderdoc also comes with tools for deep analysis and graphics inspection, and also provides a detailed examination of API usage to help locate bugs and problems in a program.

Crytek has said it will continue to improve the tool’s functionality over time, such as adding support for OpenGL.

For more information on the project and to download the graphics debugger, visit the official website.
