Develop 100: Raspberry Pi named top games tech

The Raspberry Pi has been named the top piece of technology in games in the latest Develop 100.

Voted for by CTOs, indie developers and other industry experts, the Develop 100 Tech List reveals the top development tech and tools being used in games today.

And despite strong competition from the likes of Unreal Engine 4, Unity, the PS4 and Xbox One, the Raspberry Pi came out on top as the best tech in games.

The tiny credit-card sized computer was developed by non-profit organisation the Raspberry Pi Foundation. It was built to encourage children to study computer programming, and costs between as little as £20 to £30.

It has proven so popular in fact, it has already sold 2.5 million units and continues to sell more.
