Develop conference round-ups available now

A large chunk of the UK and European games development industry was out in force in Brighton last week for the second annual Develop conference and expo.

With keynotes from Microsoft’s Chris Satchell, NCsoft’s Richard Garriott, SCE Japan’s Tsumoto Kouno, plus 50 other sessions from the likes of David Braben, Rare, Nokia, London Studios the conference was a must-attend event, providing plenty of provocate and inspiring views on both the creative and business sides to games development.

Developmag.com was there throughout, covering the key sessions, and we’ve posted up three features, one for each day of the event, linking to and summarising the big stories.

Day one was the mobile and Games:Edu days, with a keynote provided by Glu, and more information about their hardware plans from both Nokia and SCEE’s Academic team.

Day two saw the beginning of the conference proper, with talks from Richard Garriott, Chris Satchell, SCEE’s screenwriting and Home teams – plus the Develop Awards in the evening.

Finally, day three saw developers hotly debate the relevance of middleware and UK games analysts reveal how tough it was to break new IP in the market.

All those stories and more are detailed in each digest – click through the links to read more.
