Mind Candy, Spilt Milk and Colin Macdonald to speak at industry event

Develop in Brighton announces first sessions

The first round of sessions have been announced for the seventh annual Develop in Brighton conference.

Moshi Monsters developer Mindy Candy will present its first ever tech talk, whilst Spilt Milk’s Andrew Smith is to design a new game in front of an audience from scratch in just one hour.

Other sessions include Channel 4 games commissioner Colin Macdonald’s presentation on what broadcasters can offer developers, whilst Jagex’s Mark Gerhard, The Creative Assembly’s James Russell and Blitz’s Richard Hackett will also be making keynotes a the conference.

Sessions have been split into eight categories, including art, business, design and indie, as well as a brand new education section.

“We’re really excited about this year’s conference programme,” said Tandem Events MD Andy Lane.

“As always, we aim to offer sessions that reflect what’s current in the industry, from the imminent arrival of IPTV and its impact on gaming at Evolve on Tuesday, to the latest wave of indie games that are hitting the streets at the Indie Dev Day on Thursday.

“With the introduction of short, sharp thirty minute sessions in the afternoons, delegates will be able to access more sessions than ever, making 2012 the best value Develop in Brighton in its seven year history."

The event is expected to draw in 1,600 attendees from all areas of the industry.

The conference will take place in Brighton between July 10th to 12th.
