Dishonored composer Daniel Licht passes away

Composer Daniel Licht, who was known in the video game industry for his work on the Dishonored and Silent Hill series, has passed away following a short battle with cancer, aged 60.

Licht made his name as a composer on the popular TV series Dexter, scoring all eight seasons of the show. He also worked on many other movies and TV shows with a flair for the horror genre, having scored entries to the Children of the Corn series as well as some of the Amityville movies and Stephen King thriller, Thinner.

His work in video games was more recent, having used his horror skills on Konami’s Silent Hill franchise for the entries Silent Hill: Downpour and Book of Memories. He also was the composer for Arkane Studio’s Dishonored and Dishonored 2.

"Dan was an incredibly talented musician and composer, but most of all, he was a dear friend," said Dexter executive producer Clyde Phillips. "His passing leaves all of us a bit quieter, a bit sadder, and without the gift of his music and his love.”
