New functionality for Epic Games middleware part of Microsoft Games for Windows push

E3 2007: Unreal Engine 3 gets Games for Windows Live integration

Epic Games has finally confirmed that it is developing a PC version of its Gears of War game – development of which has meant that Unreal Engine 3 will now include Games for Windows Live integration.

The move means that developers making games using Epic’s popular next-gen engine will be able to take advantage of Microsoft’s online gaming network.

The news came as part of Microsoft’s E3 announcements, which included a big push behind Games for Windows Live titles – Eidos, Sega and THQ said their games Kame & Lynch, Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights, The Club and Universe at War would be supporting the PC version of Xbox Live.
