E3 2015: Crytek developing VR-only new IP Robinson: The Journey

Crytek is developing a new virtual reality game called Robinson: The Journey.

The new IP, built from the ground up for VR tech and running on CryEngine, will take place on a mysterious planet where the player has crash-landed. Users will be free to explore their surroundings and won’t be restricted to an on-rails experience.

Details are thin on the ground, but a game poster shows the landscape’s wildlife will include dinosaurs.

Crytek has previously shown off a CryEngine demo for VR in which a tyrannosaurus Rex approaches a player in a dinosaur nest. It seems likely that Robinson: The Journey could be an extension of that tech demo.
