New board as Nintendo UK MD David Yarnton becomes vice chairman

Edinburgh Interactive shuffles board and execs

Edinburgh Interactive has made a series of changes to its management and board membership in a bid to bolster its annual festival and strengthen the company going forward.

EIGF Limited, the group behind the annual trade show, has appointed Nintendo UK managing director David Yarnton as Edinburgh Interactive vice chairman.

The organisation has also launched a new board of directors, appointing former Tiga vice chairman Jeffrey Meak – who was instrumental in the festival’s genesis – as well as PR guru Simon Harvey, and ELSPA chairman Andy Payne.

Meanwhile, a senior partner at law firm Harbottle & Lewis has joined Edinburgh Interactive’s executive committee. Mark Phillips will help provide legal services to the festival.

Edinburgh Interactive chairman, Chris Deering, welcomed the change.

“The appointments to the executive committee are a reflection of the gravitas of Edinburgh Interactive and the desire both ELSPA and Tiga shares along with their respective members to see Edinburgh Interactive develop as a key part of the world’s event calendar,” he said.

“The Festival has grown year on year and the support it receives each year grows with it, with Nintendo supporting the festival once again this year it serves to reflect this.”
