Similarities with character Ellie 'not appreciated'

Ellen Page: Last of US ripped off my likeness

Inception actress Ellen Page has criticised Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed title The Last of Us for ripping off her likeness.

Speaking in a Reddit Q&A, Page said that as she was starring in another Sony exclusive, Quantic Dream’s Beyond: Two Souls, the use of her likeness was “not appreciated”.

“I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness, but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond Two Souls, so it was not appreciated,” she said.

When Naughty Dog first revealed The Last of Us, it had been speculated by some that Ellen Page was the actress behind the character Ellie. It later emerged however this was not the case, and that Ellen Page was in fact to star in another Sony title, Beyond: Two Souls.

Eventually Ellie’s model was redesigned, after what the title’s creative director Neil Druckmann said was made to better reflect actress Ashley Johnson’s personality.
