Glasgow-based firm chosen to animate cut-scenes

Enslaved DLC deal for Axis

Axis Animation has revealed a deal that saw it create over twelve minutes of animation for the critically-acclaimed Ninja Theory game Enslaved.

“The Axis crew was presented with an interesting challenge,” the firm said.

“The project required a range of cut-scene movies to drive the story along and the art direction needed to have its own unique feel but also compliment the style of the game.

“The first steps for Axis involved a period of look development with a close eye on creating a style that was rich and beautiful.

“The result is a strong graphic style for the backgrounds, which were all being painted in 2D. The characters were then to be taken straight from Ninja Theory’s game into the Axis pipeline and rendered with a more stylised look.”
