Vacancies include narrative director, animation and rendering programmers, and character and technical artists

Evolve creator Turtle Rock is staffing up for a new IP

Turtle Rock, the developer of multiplayer co-op-focused games Left 4 Dead and Evolve, is looking to bolster its ranks ahead of a brand new project.

The California-based studio’s last big release was monster-hunting multiplayer title Evolve, which launched at the start of 2015 and has since been supported with a slew of DLC and add-on content.

It previously worked on zombie co-op shooter Left 4 Dead and several of the add-ons for its sequel, as well as Counter-Strike and its various iterations, while owned by Valve.

Turtle Rock’s careers website lists multiple vacancies for an “unannounced new IP,” including spots for a narrative director, animation and rendering programmers, and character and technical artists.

Other current open positions include those for a texture artist, network programmer and UI engineer.

It’s the latest big recruitment push from the studio, which rocketed from fewer than ten members of staff in 2011 to more than 70 in 2014.

The announcement of new IP suggests that Turtle Rock’s next game won’t be a follow-up to Evolve, as the studio has traditionally used a single-project development cycle, although Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has previously expressed that Evolve will be a fixed franchise for the publisher.
