Starfire Studios surfaces with XBLA project in tow

Ex-Rare quartet form indie outfit

A team of four experienced Rare developers have emerged under command of a new independent studio, called Starfire Studios.

Designer Chris Tilston, programmer Mark Edmonds and artists Ross Bury and Phil Dunne had worked at Rare for more than ten years each before quitting to form their own company.

The group has emerged with a new Xbox Live Arcade project, called Fusion Genesis, set for release later this year.

In a wide-ranging interview with Eurogamer, the group reveals it left Rare in 2009 during its refocus for Kinect games, and recites its experiences and lessons learned from the UK studio.
