Crytek's multiplayer FPS attracts 20m new users in 16 months

F2P shooter Warface hits 25 million registered players

Free-to-play PC multiplayer shooter Warface has racked up more than 25 million registered players.

That’s according to Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli, who tweeted the milestone while thanking fans for their support.

The shooter was developed by Crytek Kiev and was released initially released in Russia in 2013. The title has since gone live in North America and Europe.

It was reported in November 2012 the game had accrued more than five million players in Russia. This means title has garnered a further 20m in just 16 months.
