Former DC:UK editor, Edge writer and Eidos man joins Brighton-based Buzz developer

Field lands at Relentless

Social games developer Relentless has bolstered its ranks with the hiring of Caspar Field.

The former journalist (he was DC:UK editor and writer for Edge) previously worked for Argonaut and was a producer at Eidos.

Field, who takes the role of senior producer on Buzz! Quiz TV commented: “Social and casual gaming are two of the hottest topics in the industry today, and that makes Relentless one of the most exciting companies to work for right now. I’m really pleased to have joined the team, and look forward to helping develop our next generation of genre-leading titles.”

He’s just one of seven new hires at the firm – the rest take rols as programmers, artists and animators with some entering the games industry for the first time.

Andrew Eades, development director of Relentless Software commented: “We’re conscious that to continue making great social games we need to employ a mix of industry experience and creativity with talent from outside of games – not only does this ensure that the industry continues to grow, and we don’t keep poaching from each other, but it also gives us a broader creative perspective internally.’
