Boston studio aims to help developers looking to go indie

Fire Hose Games offering free desk space to jobless ex-Irrational staff

Rock Band Blitz co-developer Fire Hose Games is offering recently laid off developers in the Boston area free desk space.

Local studios Turbine and Irrational Games have recently been hit with significant layoffs, and Fire Hose is now offering affected developers considering going indie a place to work.

As well as desk space, the studio said it could potentially lend indies equipment including monitors and computers if available.

The offer coincides with the company’s plans to set up its own indie game seed fund to support Boston-based development teams. It said however the offer of desk space was in no way associated with its funding plans.
