Selection of titles to be released immediately whilst others must finish development

First ten games pass through Steam Greenlight

Valve has named the first ten titles to successfully pass through its Steam Greenlight process.

The games, as voted for by the Steam community, are now available in the ‘Greenlit’ section of the digital distribution service until they are finished.

Fully developed games meanwhile will be made available immediately.

Then first ten games to have passed Steam Greenlight are:

Black Mesa
Cry of Fear
Dream
Heroes & Generals
Kenshi
McPixel
No More Room in Hell
Project Zomboid
Routine
Towns

“The Steam community rallied around these titles and made them the clear choice for the first set of titles to launch out of Greenlight,” said Valve’s Anna Sweet.

“Since launch, hundreds of titles have been submitted, with more coming in every day. We expect to be announcing more titles coming to Steam via Greenlight soon.”

Steam Greenlight was launched two weeks ago to enable users to vote for games they would like to see on the service, rather than making developers go through Valve’s own approval process.

It has recently been criticised by some users however due to Valve’s decision to add a $100 fee to developers submitting their games to the service, which some consider too big a barrier to entry for a title that may not be successful.
