Reports on the web have suggested that Company of Heroes producer John Johnson is planning to open a new studio, called Smoking Gun Games.

Former Relic vets to fire Smoking Gun?

A teaser website at Exoraire.com has opened, saying "From the producer of the most critically acclaimed real-time strategy game of all time comes a new force in games development." The comment about the ‘most acclaimed RTS’ links to Game Ranking’s top game in the genre – Company of Heroes.

The site itself is registered to Johnson and lead programmer Drew Dunlop, who recently left Vancouver-based, THQ-owned Relic after Company of Heroes was complete – although representatives handling the site’s promotion have declined to confirm the connection.

However, fans at Relicnews have found domain registration connections between Exoraire and a new registered company, Smoking Gun Games – which Shacknews points out is a registered company in British Columbia, Canada.
