Conference will also host debut screening of Beep documentary

Game Music Connect 2015 programme adds Wwise masterclass and virtual orchestras

The organisers of Game Music Connect have announced further additions to this year’s programme, teaching devs how to use leading audio tools, harness the power of orchestras and more.

Now in its third year, Game Music Connect will be held in The Purcell Room at London’s Southbank Centre and is dedicated to the realm of music in video games.

This year’s programme includes a dedicated interactive music masterclass by Simon Ashby, co-founder of Wwise creator Audiokinetic. During this session, Ashby will demonstrate the key differences between creating music for games versus other forms of entertainiment, as well as how devs can implement interactive soundtracks via Wwise.

Meanwhile Spitfire Audio, a company that specialises in sample libraries, will explain the process of creating ‘virtual orchestras’ for use in games, calling on composers of video games, film and TV to share their experiences.

These sessions add to an already comprehensive programme, which includes a keynote by Sony Computer Entertainment America’s Chuck Doud, plus sessions from the composers and sound team behind Alien: Isolation.

Finally, game Music Connect will also offer a preview of Beep: Big In Japan, a new documentary by director Karen Collins that explores the history of video game audio and music.
