Expo for Interactive Entertainment: Independent and Original event to run alongside new E3

Gamecock to offer rival E3 event

New indie-publisher Gamecock is planning to run an independent game expo at the same time as the E3 Business & Media Summit as, according to the company, the Santa Monica event “noticeably lacks independent developers”.

Shacknews reports that an early proposal for E.I.E.I.O. issued by the firm reads: “Gamecock is all about promoting the artists and bringing original games into this bloated and originality-starved industry.

“Gamecock is talking about plans for an E.I.E.I.O. to be held on the same days as E3. What do you think? It would be great to have an event that supports the ‘uninvited’ – the industry’s best and most talented studios.”

There has been no indication as to the projected size or duration of the Gamecock event.
