Jobs postings reveal mobile giant may be poised to take advantage of Louisiana state tax incentives

Gameloft moves to open New Orleans studio

Mobile giant Gameloft is moving to open a new studio in New Orleans, where it will be well positioned to take advantage of the State of Louisiana’s generous tax incentives.

"Gameloft is currently recruiting in New Orleans for a variety of game development positions," a company spokesperson confirmed when contacted by Joystiq about a number of postings on a New Orleans jobs site.

"We’ll have more information about our exciting endeavors in New Orleans soon," confirmed the source.

Interactive entertainment recruiting company Mary-Margaret.com has stated: "Gameloft is the primary company potentially hiring for positions in New Orleans, but there will be many more companies to come in the near future."

Indeed, EA already boasts an outfit at Louisiana State University, where a further 600 staff are soon to be accommodated.
