French mobile publisher to take advantage of Louisiana financial incentives

Gameloft opens New Orleans office

French mobile games publisher Gameloft has confirmed that it has today opened a new office in New Orleans, following its stated intention to take advantage of generous Louisiana tax breaks earlier this year.

Speaking to Joystiq, Gameloft US and Latin America GM Samir El Agili stated Gameloft’s aim to recruit as many as 150 people to the new studio over the next ten years.

"But with the fast pace and rapid expansion of the handheld and downloadable market we will adjust that number accordingly should we find it necessary,” he said.

Louisiana tax breaks offer tech companies a 25 per cent tax credit and 35 per cent payroll tax credit.
