One-click exporting makes preparation for Windows store submission a breeze

GameMaker: Studio adds Windows 8 export option

YoYo Games has released a free update for GameMaker: Studio that adds a one-click export option for Windows 8.

Microsoft has made much of their new built-in distribution solution, and this new tool for makes preparing and submitting Windows Style UI games that much easier.

GameMaker is already known for its ability to publish the same game in HTML5, iOS, or Android formatting.

To celebrate, YoYo has announced a competition and will be giving away prizes to developers who publish to the Windows 8 store by December 8.

Discounts will also be available next week for GameMaker 8.1 users who upgrade to GameMaker: Studio, with the standard edition priced at a mere $25 and pro going for just $50.
