Professional edition also discounted to $35 for limited time

GameMaker: Studio Standard goes free until March

YoYo Games’ development engine GameMaker: Studio Standard is now free until March 2nd.

The Standard edition was previously available for $49.99, and like the free version includes export compatibility for Mac OS X, Windows PC and Windows 8. The standard version however allows developers to unlock unlimited resources.

As well as making the Standard edition free, GameMaker Professional has been discounted to $35. The sale will end on March 2nd.

The game engine has been used to power a number of titles, including Grand Theft Auto co-creator Michael Dailly’s remake of the original GTA, which is being used to demonstrate the development platform’s capabilities.

YoYo Games was recently named in the Develop 100 Ones to Watch, which you can view in your browser or on iPad.
