Games Media Awards 2012 Liveblog

It’s time. The Games Media Awards 2012 kick off tonight, and you can follow every moment over on MCV.

Whether you’re heading to London or following events from the comfort of your web browser, you can take part. Simply take to Twitter and include the official GMA 2012 hashtag – #gma12 – and your pearls of wisdom will be included in the liveblog below.

The event kicks off at 7:30pm local time, though the liveblog should kick into life around 6:00pm.

The biggest names in the UK games press – don’t believe us? click here to see who’s going – are heading to London tonight for the hugely popular event, as will those lucky enough to get their hands on the limited number of trade tickets.

This year’s Games Media Awards return to the super chic Vinopolis, Bankside. Gold Partners supporting the event include Xbox 360, Need For Speed Most Wanted, PlayStation, Wii U, Codemasters Racing, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and NCsoft.

Russell Kane, winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, will be the host for the evening.

Deep Silver has signed up as Media Transport Partner, Trion’s Defiance is Pre-Drinks Party Host, Hitman Absolution is hosting the After Show Party and Nordic’s Wii Sing 80s will present the popular rockaoke entertainment during the evening. Far Cry 3 is reception partner.

Meanwhile Gamescom and Indigo Pearl are event partners, with other sponsors including Green Man Gaming (Top Tweeter category), Precise (Coverage by a Mainstream Website), Sega (Games Writer of the Year), Onlive (Games Website) and THQ (Games Blog).

Up to 350 guests will attend this year’s Games Media Awards, including nearly 200 media.
