New online area added as trade show opens registration early

Gamescom details emerge

The build up to this year Gamescom has begun – and exhibitors are being invited to sign up at special early prices.

The trade fair takes place in Cologne on Wednesday, August 18th and will run until Sunday, August 22nd.

Prospective exhibitors are already being encouraged to visit the Gamescom website and sign up. Early bird prices will run until February 15th, and participation forms can be found here.

The concept for this year includes a special area for online and browser games according to Olaf Wolters, MD of the German Trade Association of Interactive Entertainment Software.

“This year, much will revolve around the online sector in our industry,” he said.

“We intend to take this development into account at this year’s Gamescom with the new thematic area dedicated to online and browser games.”

Deals on travel to Cologne is now live at gamescom-cologne.com/travelservice, complete with chartered and scheduled flights, train times, and complete travel packages.

Gamescom also has deals on Hotels here.

Koelnmesse has kick-started the call for attendees earlier than last year to grow visitor numbers further.

“The demand for exhibition space is very high, new exhibitors are joining in and some exhibitors are extending their exhibition area,” explained Koelnmesse MD Oliver P. Kuhrt.

“Gamescom is fixed in the international show calendars, and exhibitors have started their trade fair planning far earlier and more decidedly than last year.

“Gamescom is the biggest business and innovation platform of the entire industry.

“Only here the entire market of interactive entertainment meets, from developer to publisher and trade to consumer.”
