Prime 17W features 70 degrees by 51 degrees field of view

GDC 13: OptiTrack reveals latest mo-cap camera

OptiTrack has revealed its latest motion capture camera in its Prime series, the 17W.

The new camera features 1.7 megapixels and a 70 degrees by 51 degrees field of view with 50’ range.

OptiTrack said that while the tech supports the use of a high number of cameras, the wide field of view is designed to deliver continuous data with fewer cameras as an “affordable” solution for engineers and animators looking to use the company’s Prime series of mo-cap tech.

It added that through the use of the 17W’s global shutter and 360FPS full resolution capture rate, the camera could be used for UAV, robotic and sports tracking as well as other high-speed applications.

Other features include low distortion ‘fast glass’ lenses for improved light transmission and an aim assist buttom for rapid single user setup.

The Prime 17W is priced at around $3,699.
