Gears of War amasses 19 million sales

Microsoft has revealed the Gears of War series has surpassed 19m units sold.

The firm reported the figure to Joystiq, with the site adding that the franchise had sold 1m copies alone since July.

While Microsoft wouldn’t share specific figures on Gears of War 3, it was previously mentioned that the game moved 3m sales in its first week alone – and that the first two Gears games combined to sell 12m units.

Gears of War: Judgment, the next in line for the third-person shooter saga, is set to release internationally in March 2013.
