Radiosity tech finished in time for GDC08 showing

Geomerics launches Enlighten

Geomerics has completed its real-time radiosity solution Enlighten, and will show off the finished version at this year’s Game Developers Conference.

The tech differs from traditional pre-computed radiosity solutions in that it is done entirely at run-time, allowing artists to quickly experiment with different lighting styles to dynamically change the mood of the environments.

“We are overjoyed to be announcing the launch of the Enlighten SDK. With our SDK completed we are looking forward to seeing Enlighten gaining the support it deserves within the games industry," said Gary Lewis, CEO of Geomerics.

"We are certain that once developers get their hands on the SDK and experiment with it for themselves, they will see the true power and versatility of Enlighten and the huge potential it has for revolutionising the look of videogames for years to come.”
