Gerhard to leave Jagex

Jagex CEO and CTO Mark Gerhard will depart the online publisher at the end of the year.

Gerhard joined Jagex in 2008 as chief technology officer, rising to chief executive officer in 2009.

He will continue to work at the company until the end of the year. Gerhard’s successor will be announced in the near future.

It has been an amazing seven years and I am proud to be a part of the great company Jagex is today,” Gerhard said.

It is never easy to say goodbye, but I believe I am leaving the company well positioned for the future, in good hands and with a deep bench of talented people as I move on to new challenges.”

Jagex board member and shareholder Jeff Horing added: "It’s been a pleasure to work with Mark and see first-hand his commitment to Jagex. He has been a guiding hand through a changing landscape and helped take the company to the next level. We wish him every success in his future endeavours."
